ATTACHMENT: THE ESSENCE OF PARENTING
In all societies of humans the basic unit is the family. This unit is dynamic, interactive, and developmental. Attachment exists at the heart of the family and is the essence of parenting. Attachment starts with mother and infant, and continues from the cradle to the grave.

Our behaviour within our family is not random. It means something, and is a way for us to express and attempt to meet our attachment needs.
“It is my hope that this site will be helpful to practitioners who work with children and families, and that the site will assist parents to appreciate their own parenting attempts, more fully understand the process of attachment, and begin to identify attachment needs – both their children’s needs, and their own.”
